Six ways dogs can help ease depression symptoms

There have been many conversations about how dogs can help with depression. Dog's can be very intuitive. Some ways that dogs can help with depression are simple yet effective. The first reason is that dogs offer unconditional love. Dogs do not have an opinion or criticize, they will love you no matter what.  Dogs can alter our behavior. If a person is having a bad day and is greeted by an excited dog, it can change a persons mood and distract us of our worries.  Dogs can promote touch. It is said that stroking a dog can reduce stress, blood pressure and heart rate. Dogs make us responsible. Taking care of dogs promotes structure and promotes mental health.  Dogs can lower our blood pressure. Research shows that dog owners have lower blood pressure.

  1. As a dog lover, I was very happy to read this posting. You are absolutely correct in stating that dogs can affect our overall well being in many positive ways. The supporting claims that you offered are great. I think you might need to state your supporting claims in a manner that is easier for ENL students to follow. Writing cohesively and being sure to include transitions is something that we all must remember to do when we write. I think it is especially important to ENL learners that your ideas flow seamlessly from one sentence to the next, so that they can easily understand what your trying to convey.

  2. Did you know that cat owners live on average 10 years longer than non-cat owners! My mother had a visit from a dog while she was in hospital recently. He left his business card!
Good vocabulary selection! Please add the grammar point and vocabulary exercises.

  3. I also agree on this posting. As a dog owner myself I have come to realize that due to his unconditional love he gives me my stress level and anxiety has gone down tremendously. Your vocabulary choice is very good and easy to explain to an ESL student and the post is a fun read as well.
